Review of "Inquisition (ইনকুইজিশন)"

Inquisition or "ইনকুইজিশন" is a thriller story from the book "Ebong Inquisition" written by Avik Sarkar released on January 2018. The book was published by "The Cafe Table". This book has a series of four stories among them "Inquisition" is the last one. The story is starting from one incident of Indian history. In the year 1560, a great priest named Trilochon khemkalyani of Goa is running with a piece of powerful thing to hide it through the dark to save it. It was the time when Portuguese are trying to make Goa as their territory.

Miguyel Vaj was the vicar general of Goa. He came from Portugal to execute the order of the Pope Pius IV. He has to find a powerful stone which was in the hand of the main priest of the "Rudra Betal Temple".

This story is simultaneously delivering multiple incident of different centuries. When the first incident was happening in the year 1560, there another incident was happening in the year of 2016 where Cornell Martinho Vaj was rescuing some students from a group of Afghan terrorists with his team. First of all you will not find any connection between this incidents but with the continuation of the story, you will understand the relation among them. Every character has played a vital role here. And the important thing is this story has full of information. This proves that the writer had done a real hard work.

The main story has started where Miguyel Vaj had captured the whole family of Trilochon khemkalyani and murdered them by his army brutally. After that he set them on fire. He snatched the heart of the son of this priest. The scene has perfectly described the feelings of a father when he was watching the death of his whole family and supporters. And after that the dead body of his son which was really heartless. Cruel Cornell had ordered the whole villagers to watch this painful scene. At this moment the priest who was going to die soon, had given a deadly curse to the famous "Vaj" family of Portugal. The curse was really terrible. But what was that curse?

Basically the first part of this story has shown a naked picture of India at that time. The outsiders were coming to India but they were looting and raping women and murdering innocent people in the sake of ruling the land. They were showing there power on poor people. But the writer will realize you that the power of "Love" can defeat anything. Love is the most powerful mantra.

One of the best part of this story is the entry of Krishnananda Agamavagisha. Not familiar with this name? You will sure. Read the book and you will know about a great bramhin of Nabadwip. A true Tantra sadhak and a true legend also.

And finally according to me this story has a power of attracting readers. In every corner, this book is filled with information, thriller, suspense, terrible scene and the way to love. What was that curse? Will a family survive the curse? Who will come to fight in front? And who will be sacrificed? The questions I have thrown to you. But the answers will be delivered by this story. I would like to recommend this book to everyone.
